Triage Volunteer

Citizens Advice Haddington are currently on the lookout for volunteers to help us facilitate our advice services.

Haddington Citizens Advice providing excellent free advice service to individuals across East Lothian since 1973 we fulfil tens of advice sessions a week on subjects such as debt, benefits, housing, relationships and immigration.
What we are looking for now is support with our first point of contact. As Triage volunteers your role would entail obtaining key information from clients on their support needs in order to determine the correct advice pathway for our clients.

You’d be asked to Identify key information about the enquiry including time limits, key dates and any requirement for urgent advice or action, identify and summarise the essence of any new enquiry, record contacts on our secure data system and make sure you’re up-to-date with advice and organisational updates. We are current host to a team of 17 regular volunteers who each hold a passion for helping members of their community. Our role is one of client empowerment, of impartiality, of effectiveness and of complete confidentiality.
