Volunteer Treasurer

We are a community-owned non-profit shop and cafe, run mainly by volunteers. Our mission is to bring the community together, promote sustainable living and encourage healthy eating for all.

Main duties:
• Weekly Supplier Payments: Bank transactions and recording and reconciliation on Xero.
• Monthly Payroll: Updating all employee details and hours, recording on Xero, and processing payment transactions on the bank
• Monthly Pension: Monthly figures to Nest Pension
• Monthly Sales and Stock Journals: Posting on Xero
• Sales (Updating spreadsheet and providing 3 reports from Touch office)
• Web Sales (Reporting from Wix)
• Petty Cash Expenses
• COS reclass from Store to Café
• Month-end stock reclass between COS and balance sheet
• Monthly Financial Statements: Preparing and circulation
• Fixed Assets records and calculations
• Quarterly VAT Declaration
• Working with HMRC for PAYE and VAT
• Year-end package preparing for accountant

Frequency & commitment
10-15 hours per month

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
