The Salvation Army – it’s a name familiar to just about everyone. But, there is so much more to The Salvation Army than meets the eye! In every community where you find The Salvation Army, you will discover a ministry that is unique. For more than a hundred and twenty years, The Salvation Army has been a vital part of the South Ayrshire evangelical and social community.
Ayr Salvation Army are currently seeking volunteers to enable us to continue to offer Food Bank services within the community. The Food Bank is currently open on a Wednesday 12 - 2pm. Ayr Salvation Army are keen to recruit new volunteers to enable us to continue to offer this and to open the food bank on Mondays and Fridays.
Can you offer a few hours each week to help this service continue to improve the lives of members of the community? If yes, We would love to hear from you.
This is a varied and interesting role that includes:
-Dealing with the public
-Understanding and updating relevant Food Bank documentation
-Stocking shelves
-Confidentiality to respect the identity and dignity of Food Bank users.
Induction and training will be provided. You will always be facilitating the Food Bank with another volunteer.
