Trustee

The Trustees would like to improve the Board's diversity by finding others who are interested in organisational development, biodiversity, the environment and sustainable developments, and outreach to the wider public (including younger people, business and government).

Role Description :

Trustees:
• act as stewards of the organisation's strategy and aims.
• are jointly responsible for carrying out the Board's function as described in the
constitution.
• enable / facilitate the emergence of actions that build on new opportunities and address
perceived gaps in the pursuit of the organisation's aims.
• liaise with the Action Groups and any Steering Group.


Meetings take place four times per annum - more if required. Virtual meetings are possible.


Experience required

Areas of expertise
• Green issues and sustainable development as per the organisation's vision and mission statements;
• Organisational development, especially executive functions not already covered by the organisation;
• Community outreach and engagement, and membership development;
• Youth engagement, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnership management;
• Project management, fund raising, 'getting things done';
• Communications, telling our story.

Personal characteristics
• Strategic, with a long-term perspective;
• Inspirational leadership;
• Passion about green issues in the Borders;
• Getting things done;
• Effective communication skills.
