Cycling Without Age Scotland
- VO102077
CWAS brings joy to communities across Scotland - particularly people living with limited mobility, loneliness or isolation - via the incredible social tool known as the Trishaw (specially adapted e-bike). Our volunteer cyclists (known as Pilots) provide FREE Trishaw rides along some of the most beautiful footpaths, cycle routes and quiet roads in Scotland. Our volunteer Outriders cycle alongside the Trishaw, getting to know the passengers and providing support to the Pilot and the passengers.
Our passengers are people living with limited mobility, loneliness or isolation. They may be elderly people living in care homes, supported living or in their own homes, or they may be young people or adults with disabilities or additional support needs.
Our volunteer Pilots and Outriders are outside in nature, sharing their daily discoveries with their passengers (who might otherwise have been stuck inside all day), bringing smiles to faces, enjoying a good blether and often a great laugh. Lasting friendships are made.
Come for a spin in a Trishaw and find out why we love what we do! We are in:
