CACE is a vibrant charity in Cumbernauld that supports individuals across Cumbernauld, Kilsyth, Croy, the Northern Corridor and surrounding areas. We are looking for compassionate, friendly and reliable individuals to join our team of volunteers.
Come and gain skills and experience that will enhance your CV, all whilst improving lives, reducing loneliness and connecting communities.
Our volunteers primarily support over-65s to reduce loneliness and isolation, build confidence and improve lives. As a volunteer driver, you will be tasked with collecting our service users from their doors to various locations and back home again. These could be:
-Our office where all of our activities run from.
-Community outings.
-Special events in the community for our service users.
-Working with local community groups to assist their day-to-day operations.
At CACE we are committed to supporting our volunteers to empower and improve outcomes of our service users. To support you in volunteering with us you will receive:
- Comprehensive training – currently we offer MiDAS training
- Regular support and supervision
- Fun volunteer social activities
- Additional volunteering opportunities
Your role will include:
• Providing safe, reliable transport for patients to and from activities and outings.
• Offering a friendly and supportive presence during journeys.
• Coordinating with the Transport Coordinator to schedule journeys and plan routes.
Whether you’re looking to change your career, give back to the community or looking for something to do during retirement, we have hours that can fit around you.
You will be supported by the Engagement and Development Lead and Transport Coordinator during your time as a volunteer.

Experience required
A full and clean drivers licence
D1 on your drivers licence
Experience driving a bus or mini-bus is desirable but not required
Have patience and understanding
Interested in working with and supporting older people

Availability
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
