Volunteering details

Join Brain Tumour Research as a Public Collections Volunteer and make a direct impact in the fight against brain tumours. Your role will help raise crucial funds and increase awareness, bringing us one step closer to finding a cure.

As a Public Collections Volunteer, you’ll be on the front lines of fundraising, engaging with the public at busy locations such as supermarkets and racecourses. With a collection bucket and a card machine, you’ll encourage donations while spreading awareness of Brain Tumour Research’s vital work. Your efforts will help fund essential scientific research to improve survival rates and find better treatments for those affected by this devastating disease.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collect donations from the public at designated locations, following Brain Tumour Research guidelines.

  • Engage with people in a friendly and respectful manner, raising awareness of our mission.

  • Ensure a professional and approachable presence, wearing provided identification to signify your role.

  • Register as a collector at the venue before starting your shift.

  • Handle collected funds responsibly, handing them over to the designated person at the end of your shift.

Who We’re Looking For:
-We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about making a difference. No prior experience is necessary—just a friendly attitude and a willingness to engage with the community. The ideal volunteer will be:

Experience required

No prior experience is required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to engage with the public. Ideal volunteers should be confident, polite, and approachable, with strong communication skills to encourage donations. A smart appearance and a positive attitude will help create a professional and friendly presence. Reliability and commitment are key, as well as the ability to handle occasional rejection gracefully. Previous fundraising or customer service experience is a plus but not essential.
