Are you passionate about social media? Would you like to gain experience while helping other young people learn about volunteering and opportunities in their community?
We are looking for creative and enthusiastic young people to help us connect with other young people through engaging content on TikTok and other social media platforms.
In this role, you will help us shine a positive light on local young people, promote our project, highlight the benefits of volunteering and share information about youth activities delivered by local groups and organisations.
About us:
Our youth volunteering programme, Make it Happen, supports and guides young people facing personal barriers, helping them grow in confidence and find meaningful opportunities to participate and reconnect with their communities through volunteering. We work with young people across East Renfrewshire aged 12-25.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support staff and volunteers to develop a plan for launching and managing a TikTok account
- Support other young people and staff team to create engaging and fun TikTok content that celebrates young people, promote volunteering and other local youth groups, ensuring content is relevant and appealing to young people
- Team up with Comms Officer to develop regular social media content for other platforms (eg, Facebook) that showcases local young people and volunteers in a positive light and promotes our project activities to parents, carers and those who work with young people
- Research and share information about local youth clubs, activities and events
- Keeping up with social media trends to make content fresh, relevant and engaging while growing our online presence
- You can, but we don’t expect you to take on all of these responsibilities! You can focus on the areas that interest you most, whether that’s creating content for TikTok, researching local activities, or helping with planning and ideas and work with other volunteers and staff to share the tasks
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for social media.
- Experience creating TikTok or Instagram content (personal or professional)
- Knowledge of trending topics, hashtags and viral content
- Interest in volunteering

Travel details
Barrhead or Clarkston or other East Ren locations to suit the volunteer.
Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
