Patchwork Landracer

As with all types of gardening there are different styles which have different benefits. Our most recent garden, Lowood Walled Garden, is dedicated to landrace seed production. This style of seed production requires little effort but will increase the genetic diversity in our plants making them more resilient and adaptable.

Our patchwork landracers, are based at home and use a portion of their own gardens to contribute. We ask that you dedicate a patch of your garden to either a single type or mix of landrace seeds. Once you have grown your produce and saved the seeds from that we will swap you 1/3 of the seeds from the seeds saved at Lowood Walled Garden. We ask that you plant everything on June 1st and then harvest the biggest samples on October 1st. Anything that is left you are welcome and we encourage you to eat.
