Race Marshal Volunteers

We have exciting opportunities to join our friendly group of volunteers to support one, two or three of our Safari Series races throughout 2025. Each race requires around 30-40 volunteers at each event to run the day safely. Most roles will be as marshals directing runners round the race routes but there will be a few at the registration and finish areas.

Forthcoming events you can volunteer at include:

*Race event 1: Duthie Park 5k and kids 1k races:
18th May from 9/9.30am to 12.30/1pm at Duthie Park, Aberdeen

*Race event 2: Prime Four 3k and kids 1k races:
29th June from 8.30am to 12.00pm at Prime Four Business Park, Kingswells

*Race event 3: Mel's Union Street Mile:
23rd August from 8.30am to 11.30am, central Aberdeen around Union Street and Broad Street areas.

Relevant guidance and excellent support is provided to all volunteers.

Fantastic, enjoyable opportunities to assist and be part of major events in Aberdeen. As well as helping greatly and making a difference for vital charitable work you will also have fun as well.

Travel expenses

We will cover public transport within a 30 mile radius - i.e. bus or train fares and will reimburse volunteers the following week provided receipts are submitted.

Training details

Relevant guidance and excellent support is provided to all volunteers.

All volunteers will be sent information 1-2 weeks before each event around times and tasks, at this point we are happy to answer any questions. On the event mornings there will be a full volunteering briefing with the event manager and coordinator.

Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
