Social Media & Content Creation Volunteer

Tarbolton Community Council is looking for a creative and social media-savvy volunteer to help bring our community to life online! 🎥📱 If you love making TikToks, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels, this is the perfect role for you.

We’re not looking for someone to handle serious announcements or fundraising campaigns—just the fun promo stuff! You’ll be creating engaging, lighthearted content to showcase village life, local events, and everything that makes Tarbolton special. Whether it's filming highlights from a community gathering, jumping on the latest trends, or adding a creative spin to promote what’s happening, we want your ideas and energy!

This role can mostly be done from home, using tools like CapCut and staying up to date with the latest social media trends. It’s a great opportunity to build your portfolio, gain experience in digital content creation, and make a difference in your community.

Interested? Get in touch today! 😊

Experience required

For this role, we’re looking for someone who:

✅ Has a passion for social media – You should be familiar with TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels.
✅ Is creative and full of ideas – We want fun, engaging, and fresh content that captures the spirit of our community.
✅ Can edit short-form videos – Basic experience with tools like CapCut, InShot, or similar is helpful, but you don’t need to be a pro!
✅ Keeps up with social media trends – Knowing what’s popular and how to adapt trends for our community is key.
✅ Is self-motivated – This role is flexible and can mostly be done from home, so being able to manage your own time is important.

No formal experience is required—just enthusiasm, creativity, and a love for social media! 🎥✨

Travel details

All events and community activities will take place in Tarbolton, so it would be great if you’re local or able to travel to the village when needed. However, most of the role can be done remotely from home, with occasional visits to capture content at events.

Travel expenses will be covered within reason, so you won’t be out of pocket for attending events.

Travel expenses

To ensure a positive and fair volunteering experience, we’ll cover the following reasonable expenses:

🚗 Travel costs – Public transport fares or mileage for attending events in Tarbolton.
📱 Essential app subscriptions – If needed for content creation (to be agreed in advance).
🎟️ Event entry fees – If attending a ticketed community event for filming.
🥪 Lunch expenses – If you’re volunteering at an event for an extended period.
💼 Essential equipment – Reimbursement for necessary tools like tripods, cameras, or microphones.

All expenses will be covered upon the agreement that they were discussed prior with your volunteer manager and they are agreed to. We may not be able to cover expenses that have already been incurred and/or were not agreed to prior.

Frequency & commitment
This opportunity offers flexible hours that can be tailored to your availability. We understand that life can be busy, so we aim to make this role work around your schedule. ⏰ How often does it take place? - Content creation (like filming TikToks, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels) can mostly be done remotely and at your own pace. - Occasional in-person attendance may be required for local events in Tarbolton, which we’ll notify you about in advance. These large events tend to only happen 2-3 times per year. 💪 Level of commitment: We’re looking for 1-2 hours per week, but this can vary depending on your availability and the events happening in the community. If you’re keen to create more content or have a burst of ideas, we’re happy to work with you on a more flexible schedule!

Volunteers (aged 16-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
