Walk and Talk Volunteer

Cruse Scotland requires volunteers for Walk and Talk, a free walking group for bereaved adults living in Fife. Two groups will run on alternate weeks, one in Kirkcaldy and one in Dunfermline. The walks will last between 1 to 1.5 hours and will be suited to the ability of the group.

Led by trained walk leaders and supported by volunteers, the fortnightly walking groups offer an opportunity for bereaved people to meet new people with a shared experience of the impact of loss, form friendships and become active.

Volunteers will support the Walk Leader to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for the walk participants. No experience is required. Volunteers will have the opportunity to go on Paths for All Walk leader training.

Volunteers help support bereaved people by giving them a chance to socialise and meet with others who have had similar experiences and to access the outdoors.

Experience required

We are looking for people who are friendly and generally active. It would be helpful for volunteers to have:

-Good listening and communication skills

-A compassionate approach
