Royal Voluntary Service (Dundee)
- VO102757
We have four dementia groups across Dundee, as a volunteer you can choose one group or more it’s up to you! Our groups are weekly, but you can choose what days to come.
As a Dementia Support Volunteer, you will be part of a friendly team to help set up, welcome our clients, participate and ensure they leave safely for home.
Our groups support older people living with dementia to be independent and stay connected to their communities. This is a fun and rewarding role interacting with staff, other volunteers, our clients and their carers/loved ones who accompany them.
Tasks include helping to provide tea/coffee and healthy snacks as well as supporting with various fun activities. You can join in our exercises to improve strength and mobility. Don’t let the word Dementia put you off, this is a rewarding role where you can really see the difference you make!
Our groups are weekly you do not need to come every week, but we expect advance notice on when you can help. They are 2-hour sessions, but we expect volunteers to arrive early to help set up and stay behind to help clear up. Although if you can’t that’s not a problem.
