Ruthrieston Community Centre
- VO102790
Ruthrieston Community Centre is located on Holburn Street and has been at the heart of the community for 150 years. The centre offers a range of physical activities such as pilates and yoga, hobbies for example sewing and drawing and community groups meet ups. Our community cafe encourages our residents to come and interact and foster community spirit and resilience.
Do you have a flair for preparing a meal in a community setting, or have a friendly nature bring a sense of welcome to our residents then we need you. Ruthrieston Community Centre hosts a Community Cafe every Friday 12-3 and we are looking for people to come and help in the kitchen and interact with our residents. People like to come in and have a chat, play board games and have some soup and interact with other people in their local community. We are looking for volunteers to help create a welcoming and friendly environment.
Whether you strengths are making people feel valued by having a chat or want to prepare soup from ingredients that we get on the day, we would love your help. We want to develop the cafe to meet the needs of the community, like the walking group we are about to start so if you can bring other skills to the day then we want to foster your abilities too, so come and join our friendly team.
A fantastic opportunity to help make a difference for people and the local community. All help is greatly appreciated.
