Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? Kincardine & Deeside Befriending is looking for an inspiring and committed leader to take on the role of Chairperson.

We provide life-changing support to people over 55 who are facing isolation and loneliness. As Chair, you’ll guide our team, shape our strategy, and ensure we continue to thrive.

If you have leadership experience, a passion for the third sector, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and trustees, we’d love to hear from you!

Experience required

• Good leadership skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Impartiality, fairness and ability to respect confidences
• The ability to ensure decisions are made and followed up
• Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Management Committee
• Experience of organisational and people management
• Knowledge of the operating environment for charities in Scotland

Travel details

We have two offices, one in Stonehaven, one in Banchory.

Frequency & commitment

We generally hold a management committee meeting every six weeks, generally on a Monday between 10 and 12. Visits to the offices are made informally to discuss various (perhaps once a fortnight or when there is business to discuss).
