Tea Bar volunteers - The Croft Family Support at HMP Barlinnie

Volunteers in this role will work at the Tea Bar located in the prison visits room. you will provide refreshments to visitors during visits, offering a welcoming and friendly service.

The Tea Bar has an important role in the prison visit room. By providing refreshments, we create a welcoming atmosphere, help reduce tensions and have a positive effect on the quality of the visits.

The responsibilities of the role are to:


•Greet visitors warmly at the tea bar to create a welcoming atmosphere
•Treat all visitors with respect and have a non-judgement attitude
•Serve refreshments to visitors
•Maintain cleanliness in Tea Bar for a pleasant environment
•Leave the tea bar organised for the next session
•Ensure stock levels are replenished at end of your session


This would suit someone who is reliable and a good communicator with a non- judgemental approach. This opportunity will also provide the volunteer with experience and skills to enhance their CV and give an insight into the Criminal Justice System.


Full induction will be provided for the role with ongoing support meetings.


The slots available are:
Monday to Friday: 12-3.30pm; 4-6.30pm or 12-6pm
Sat & Sun:11am-3.30pm
Volunteers are subject to a PVG Disclosure application
