The North Merchiston Club has ambitious plans for the future expansion of its sports and wellbeing services to better meet the needs of our local community. It is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of North Merchiston Club and guides and supports the Club’s staff. The Board are also trustees of the charity. We are looking to attract trustees to help us take these plans forward.

Travel details

North Merchiston Club is located in Central Edinburgh near Fountain Park. There is no parking at the Club but there is plenty of on street parking. Buses run along Fountain Park (1 and 34) and also along Dalry ( 3,33,4,44,25) which is walkable to the Club.

Travel expenses

There is an expenses form that the person would complete and money would be paid into their bank account.

Training details

Candidates will be invited to an informal visit to meet the staff and a Board Member. At their first Board meeting time will be taken to introduce the Board process. A Board Member will be appointed as a mentor.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
