Customer Service

Hours: Volunteer hours are flexible—contribute as much or as little time as suits you

Responsibilities:


  • Meet and greet all visitors by creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere

  • Check items in and out following correct processes & procedures

  • Keep the area clean and tidy before and after lending sessions

  • Open premises at fixed, regular times for members to borrow

  • Maintain and clean items

  • Take receipt of donations and add them to the library

  • Maintain the online borrowing platform MyTurn to monitor items available, reserved, loaned and overdue

  • Answer visitors’ questions and help them use the online borrowing platform

  • Take membership payments (most payments are made online via the MyTurn booking system however there is an option to pay cash on arrival)

Training to use the BILoT inventory management database will be provided.

PAT testing training available.

Restrictions

Minimum age: 18

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
