Volunteer Companion Lead

We're looking for a Companion Lead! 

Are you passionate about people, community, and making a real difference? This could be the perfect role for you we are currently seeking a Companion Leads around Glasgow for our community.

As a Companion Lead, you’ll be at the heart of a service that brings warmth, connection, and support to those who need it most. From empowering volunteers to offering a listening ear, your impact will be felt far and wide.


What you’ll be part of:
This is a dynamic and rewarding role. Some days you’ll be behind the scenes — coordinating volunteers, planning social events, and building community spirit. Other days, you’ll be front and centre — offering companionship, supporting carers, and ensuring no one feels alone.


Your key responsibilities will include:


Connecting with individuals to understand how the Companion service can best support them


Supporting volunteers and carers with emotional and practical companionship


Promoting the service, recruiting new volunteers, and raising awareness


Organising social activities and strengthening our support network


Keeping accurate records and ensuring everything aligns with Marie Curie’s values


You’d be a great fit if you:


Are a natural motivator who enjoys encouraging others


Are a compassionate listener with a steady, calming presence


Are organised, reliable, and efficient


Communicate with warmth, respect, and professionalism


Are confident using email, Word, and Excel for simple record-keeping


What you need to know:


You must be 18 or over to apply


You’ll need to complete an online application and provide two non-family references
