About the Event:

Sma' Shot Day is a vibrant celebration of Paisley's rich heritage of community activism and unity. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, July 5th, 2025. We commemorate the weavers' historic triumph in securing payment for the essential Sma' Shot thread that held Paisley shawls together. This joyous day will bring together residents and visitors alike, featuring live music, dancing, arts and crafts, and much more!

Sma' Shot Day Volunteers:

We’re thrilled to invite you to be part of the magic at this year’s Sma' Shot Day celebrations! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help create an unforgettable experience on July 5th, 2025. Here’s how you can get involved:
•Welcoming Host: Be the friendly face greeting guests at the tea dance venue! Help check registrations and tickets.
•Workshop Buddy: Team up with workshop leaders to assist with guest lists and ticket checks, help with activities, and keep the workshop area tidy and ready for fun!
•Parade Support: Join in the excitement by supporting our fantastic community groups in the parade, ensuring everyone is safe and having a blast!
•Event Point of Contact: Be the go-to person for visitors, providing them with event info and directions with a big smile!
•Radio Room Assistant: Help our event crew stay connected by assisting with radio sign-in/out procedures, managing equipment, and keeping the radio room running smoothly.

About You:
•You love being in a lively atmosphere!
•You can spare up to 5 hours to volunteer on event day.
•You’re excited to participate in a fun event induction and training.

Desirable Skills for the Role:
•You have excellent communication skills and enjoy chatting with people.
•You’re passionate about events and community development.
•You’re motivated and love working as part of a team.
•You bring a positive attitude and a “can-do” spirit!

We’ll cover your travel expenses, and lunch will be on us!
