Sports Coach or Sport Volunteer

South Lanarkshire Disability Sport are looking for a number of Volunteer Sports Coaches or Sports Volunteers. To attend and support the delivery at SLDS regular weekly sessions on Friday evenings in East Kilbride, as well as any additional sessions across South Lanarkshire if available. This opportunity will be on an ad-hoc basis, with training and experience provided by SLDS.

SLDS multisport and boccia group are a friendly group of young people and young adults with a disability who take part in weekly physical activity and sport, socialise and have some fun!

• Approachable with friendly manner
• Good listener
• Well Organised
Ability to motivate and encourage participants
• Show an appropriate level of coaching knowledge, if you are a sports coach


DESIRABLE (training provided)


• UK Coaching Qualification in any sport (Level 1 or above)
• Experience with coaching participants with a disability


To support the running of current South Lanarkshire Disability Sport sessions, such as the East Kilbride multi-sport and boccia sessions, Hamilton Boccia sessions, with the potential for additional sessions throughout the year dependent on availability.


If you have a sports coaching qualification, you will plan and deliver coaching sessions appropriate to the ability of participants


If you are a volunteer, you will support the lead coach during the sessions, making sure all participants are getting involved, provide encouragement and help with the set up of activity equipment.
