DIY & Maintenance

Our community group is preparing to take over the running of Polmont Sports Centre in order to keep the Centre open for the benefit of local residents. Entirely volunteer-led, the committee are passionate about ensuring the Centre continues to operate but more volunteers are needed who will be able to support its day-to-day running.

We are looking for a committed individual who could carry out small DIY type repairs and maintenance to help maintain the internal and external fabric of the building. Tasks might include:

  • painting

  • simple repairs

  • grass cutting
But these will vary depending on need and will generally include odd jobs. It might also include providing advice on larger maintenance and renovation work that ought to be carried out or is planned for the future.

This is an ad hoc and varied role that would fit the volunteer's schedule, and all help is greatly appreciated.

General domestic DIY skills preferred – including painting & decorating, gardening, woodwork, electrical, plumbing, etc.

A willingness to share and develop skills would also be beneficial.
