Re-engage - Falkirk

Re-engage is committed to older people being heard, valued and engaged. As we get older, our social circles diminish, and we find ourselves with fewer and fewer people to turn to. Re-engage envision a world where no one is ever too old to make friends and enjoy social interaction, with a mission to work within communities to end social isolation and loneliness in older people.
Re-Engage Tea Parties are a chance for an older person to meet someone new and reconnect with their community. Hosting a Tea Party is very simple. Guests are driven to the Host's home and provided with a cup of tea, maybe some baking, and a friendly conversation to help isolated people aged over 75. The only requirements are: you need to have space for around 8 people to sit, have a toilet on the same floor, and less than 3 steps into your home. Normally your tea party will last for about 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon, and take place a couple of times a year with the same attendees.
This is a great opportunity to reconnect with your community and make someone's week a bit brighter while volunteering in your own home with to fit with your own schedule. If you think you could help host a local Tea Party for Older People then please enquire now!
Experience required
No experience or particular skills required. We just need you to be an empathetic person who is ready to work alongside Older People over the age of 75.

Training details
Online induction session with video and full onboarding training. Each volunteer will have a named contact for support.

Typically Tea Parties are hosted on Sunday afternoons but this can be flexible.
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
