Charity Shop Volunteer

No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our users/community well if we don't have good organisers in the team. If this sounds like you... we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week.

PDSA keeps people and pets together by providing a lifeline to owners who are experiencing financial hardships and unable to afford veterinary treatment. With your support, we can help those struggling most get the life-saving veterinary care their pet desperately needs. We also offer pet welfare education and practical preventive support to combat the unnecessary illness, pain and suffering of pets in low-income households.
Charity shop volunteers are involved in a wide range of roles and day to day activities that support the running of the shop -
Acknowledge and greet customers on the shop floor.
Advise and assist customers on their purchases whilst promoting sales opportunities.
Process transactions on the till whilst promoting gift aid and raffle to customers.
Receive and acknowledge customer donations.
Get involved with sorting through donations to find those hidden gems.
Preparing goods for sale by sorting, steaming and pricing.
Replenish stock and put together eye-catching displays to entice customers in.
Check all public areas are clean and safe, ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
Compliance with our policies and procedures including health and safety, safeguarding and data protection.
Promote and demonstrate the organisational commitment to our people feeling and being safe in line with policies, procedures and code of conduct.

So whether you are looking to use your time well, update your skills or have the chance to do something a bit new, we can offer you a warm welcome and all of the support and help you could need.
We are seeing a rise in demand for our services everyday. Having your help will allow us to be there for the people who need us. Any time you can give will make a real difference.
