Driver for Disabled Ramblers group

Forth and Tay Disabled Ramblers is a registered charity who support disabled people to access the outdoors using mobility scooters. Rambles take place twice a month between April-October. The members benefit greatly from both the activity and the social aspects of the group. The rambles provide opportunities to go and see places that would otherwise be impossible for some of the members. They transport the scooters from a garage in Glenrothes to the rambles, which take place in Dundee, Perth, Fife and the Lothians. A minibus is also provided for some rambles.

The group need drivers who can drive either the minibus or the Luton vans used to transport the scooters. If able help to load the vans would also be beneficial. Drivers need to have D1 on their licence. There is a set programme of rambles each year with set dates, and volunteers put their name against the days that they can help. So you can do as much or as little as suits you.

Experience required

Ability to drive. To have a D1 on their driving licence. If possible being physically able to help load scooters onto a van. A PVG check will be needed which will be done through the charity.
