D&D Volunteer

No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our users/community well if we don't have good organisers in the team. If this sounds like you... we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week.
West Dunbartonshire Libraries manages eight Public Libraries, five School Libraries as well as a Mobile Library and a Home Delivery service. Libraries encourage reading, inspire creativity and support lifelong learning through free access to books and other physical and digital resources, computers and information. Our wide portfolio of activities embrace all age ranges supporting national literacy and health and well-being initiatives, primary and secondary school events, computer classes, author talks and literature festivals. There is close liaison with council departments to meet local priorities and initiatives and ensure Best Value principles and practices.
This volunteer role will involve supporting a Dungeons & Dragons group of young people aged 12-16 years in Clydebank library. It would suit a person who enjoys working with, or is looking to develop skills working with young people, and who has an interest in D&D.
The role will include learning the rules of the game, mentoring the group to run their campaigns, and facilitating a fun experience for the players. It will involve keeping the young people on task, ensuring fair play, and providing assistance throughout game-play. The role would suit someone with good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
So whether you are looking to use your time well, update your skills or have the chance to do something a bit new, we can offer you a warm welcome and all of the support and help you could need.
We are seeing a rise in demand for our services everyday. Having your help will allow us to be there for the people who need us. Any time you can give will make a real difference.
