GWT’s 18 local intergenerational networks are designed to create opportunities for individuals, groups and organisations who would like to come together to hear what’s happening intergenerationally in their local area and nationally. It is an opportunity to network with like minded people to discuss how to plan, deliver and evaluate meaningful intergenerational activities, but importantly its a chance to meet new people establish new partnerships and share experiences, knowledge and sometimes resources too.
As of the January 2025 GWT is recruiting volunteer connectors to help support and grow these networks.
The volunteer’s main role will be to support one of our development team in the planning, coordination & facilitation of 2-3 network meetings which run each year in each of our network areas. We will ask connectors to help circulate information to theirs friends, colleagues and contacts and help contribute ideas to agendas.
Each volunteer will be a local champion for intergenerational work, a point of contact for people interested in developing intergenerational knowledge and confidence and someone to encourage local groups to showcase and share intergenerational stories and experience locally and possibly nationally via network meetings and on the GWT website.
Volunteers will be able to access free and discounted training and support which will increase your knowledge and confidence around how to develop and sustain good quality intergenerational projects. GWT will cover reasonable expenses to volunteers for any travel relating to GWT meetings/ training and events. Its also a great way to meet new people from across your local area.
