Tandem hire Helper

About Charlotte’s Tandems Charlotte’s Tandems lends tandem bikes to anyone with a disability or additional need, so they can enjoy cycling wherever, whenever, and with whomever they like. You’ll be joining a passionate network enabling people to experience the joy and freedom of cycling.

Role: Tandem Hire Helper

What You’ll Do:


Lend out tandems and tag-along bikes to borrowers in your local area
Manage admin tasks (loan agreements, borrower forms, evidence checks)
Tinker with bikes (basic maintenance, fitting adjustments)
Support borrowers in learning to ride and help them feel confident

When and Where:


Flexible times, arranged directly with borrowers
Mostly evenings or weekends, depending on availability
Volunteering from home

Commitment:


Flexible — ideally able to support on an ongoing basis (3–6 months or more)
No strict minimum hours, but regular availability is helpful to keep bikes in circulation
