Volunteer Opportunity – Join the Team at Pollok Pantry! Making a real difference in your local community.

About Pollok Pantry
Pollok Pantry, run by SWAMP (South West Arts & Music Project), is a vibrant community food pantry located in the heart of Pollok at 25/27 Brockburn Road. We offer local residents access to affordable groceries and essential items, operating on a low-cost membership model that promotes dignity, choice, and sustainability—a positive alternative to traditional food parcels.

With over 1,000 members already benefiting from the service, the pantry is a vital part of SWAMP’s mission to support community wellbeing, reduce poverty, and strengthen social connections across Greater Pollok.

We Need You!
We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help us keep the pantry running smoothly and ensure everyone feels welcome.


?? Opening Hours:


Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm


Occasional Wednesday openings from 10:00am – 2:00pm

Volunteer Role Includes:


Welcoming and assisting pantry users


Serving customers and supporting their shop


Restocking shelves and freezers


Keeping the pantry clean, safe, and inviting

What You’ll Gain:

A reasonable level of physical fitness is helpful for this role, but we’re happy to discuss adjustments to suit your needs.

Experience required

-Good communication – friendly, polite, and welcoming to all
-Teamwork – able to work well with others in a busy environment
-Reliability – turning up on time and completing tasks as agreed
-Basic organisation – keeping shelves tidy and following stock rotation
-Willingness to learn – open to training in food safety and manual handling
-Physical ability – comfortable with light lifting and standing (adjustments can be made)

Travel details

From Glasgow city centre (e.g. West Campbell or Buchanan Street), board the X8 bus toward Pollok/Silverburn (runs about every 15–20 minutes)
