Craft Shop helper

If you love crafts, enjoy helping others, and want to be part of a welcoming community space, an exciting opportunity awaits you in Jedburgh. A local craft shop on the High Street is looking for a Craft Shop Helper to support its creative activities and help spread the word about its offerings.

This isn’t just any shop—friendliness and community spirit come before profit, passionate about making creativity accessible to everyone, and they’re looking for someone who shares that vision.

What the Role Involves
The Craft Shop Helper will play a key role in making visitors feel welcome and supported. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting clients with hands-on craft activities such as glass etching and painting
• Issuing craft materials and helping tidy up after sessions
• Guiding people through their creative projects and helping them finish their work
• Taking photographs of client creations and shop events
• Ensuring GDPR forms are signed and properly stored
• Keeping the shop’s Facebook page up to date with photos, news, and events
• Handing out flyers and promoting the shop at local events
• Providing friendly, helpful service to everyone who walks through the door

Who They're Looking For
The ideal candidate will be approachable, enthusiastic, and community-minded. Some computer skills, especially with social media would be helpful, and any experience with crafts or artistic projects is a definite plus. Most importantly, the shop is looking for someone who enjoys working with people and creating a positive, welcoming environment.

A Chance to Make a Difference
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a creative, community-focused initiative in the heart of Jedburgh. Whether you're an artist, a crafter, or simply someone who loves helping others, this role offers the chance to make a real impact—while having fun along the way.
