Board Member/Trustee

Join Our Growing Community - Trustees Needed!

About us

Camperdown Growing Collective (known as Campy Growers) is a SCIO working in partnership with Dundee City Council in the heart of Camperdown Country Park. It sits on 8 acres of previously degraded land, 2 acres of which have now been cultivated. The charity was formed in 2022 and has three core purposes:
· Facilitating access to growing opportunities - helping improve community diet and wellbeing
· Promoting environmental improvement - restoring degraded land, creating and protecting biodiversity
· Advancing education and skills - particularly around food growing, cooking, and healthy eating

The garden is supported by a small, dedicated staff team, volunteers and trustees who work together to ensure that our charitable aims are met.

Board Member Opportunities

We are a new, small charity with big ambitions. We are looking to strengthen the diversity and expertise of our board to help put vision into practice.

We are seeking to recruit new trustees willing to share their time, expertise and skills in order to advise on, support and monitor the organisation's strategic direction. We have identified a range of skills and experience that would complement the existing board composition.

Board member commitments

In terms of time commitment, a trustee would be expected to undertake the following:

· Monthly board meetings (held on site and online)
· Strategy sessions (2 evenings or 1 day per year)
· Participate in one or more short-term working groups when required
· Represent, attend and support Campy events throughout the year when required
· Be available to respond within a reasonable time frame to ad-hoc requests for input by email,
opinion and support as and when required.

Whilst the role is unpaid, reasonable expenses are payable in line with our constitution.
