HeatHack
- VO105984
HeatHack is a new small charity that helps community building operators across Scotland understand and agree how to manage their energy use and move away from fossil fuels – even if they are in difficult buildings like churches. Our programmes help them think about their occupancy, maintenance, new heating controls and types of heating systems, and the importance of maintenance and building adaptations to fit changing community needs, leading to better conversations with funders and with the professionals who take the work further. We have an exciting opportunity for board members to help form our strategy to grow and improve on what we do.
Experience required
We are looking above all for board members with a passion for our cause who are team players with an open mind about how we serve our beneficiaries.
We are especially interested in board members with experience of business planning, income generation, or governance; those with lived experience of managing rural community buildings or sports centres; and those who can help us think about how to work with non-Christian faith groups and associated professions like building services engineering, the heating controls industry, and architecture.
Travel details
The ability to travel is not required for these roles, which are open to people situated anywhere in UK.
Travel expenses
Our policy is to ensure no one is out of pocket for what they do, within the limits of what the charity can afford. Trustees, volunteers, and staff are encouraged to claim expenses after pre-approval and will be discouraged from taking on activities that would cause them unreimbursed expense. We do not expect this role to incur travel expenses, but recognise that there may be instances where this is appropriate, for instance, to attend training.
