Treasurer (remote - 1hr a week)

Fortis Advisory CIC is a community interest company providing crisis support and connecting people to help through our referral partnerships and outreach work.

We have no paid staff, and all of our work is volunteer-led, so our financial activity is minimal, with only a few transactions each month for things like insurance and website costs. We are looking for a volunteer Treasurer to act as one of two bank signatories for payments, oversee basic financial record-keeping and reconciliations, and provide simple monthly updates to our small board.

This is an important role for us to fill as many grants require non-profit organisations to have two bank-signatories as a condition of applying and being awarded grant funding.

You do not need to be a qualified accountant, just organised, trustworthy, and confident with basic numbers. This role would suit someone looking to support a small but growing social impact organisation without a large time commitment.

The time commitment is around one hour per week, fully flexible, and the role can be carried out remotely. If you wanted to volunteer more than 1 hour a week, you are welcome to help our grants team in identifying grants.

Experience required

No formal accounting qualifications are required. You should be organised, trustworthy, comfortable with basic numbers, and able to use online banking and simple spreadsheets. Experience with finances or bookkeeping is helpful but not essential.
