Performing Music Volunteer

Looking for performance ready music volunteers, who play acoustic instruments eg violin or guitar.
To deliver high quality musical performances to patients (usually in ward settings) to provide stimulation, distraction and boast mood to aid wellbeing and recovery.
We are not looking for applications forms at this time just an email to NHS Lothian Charity: loth.charity@nhs.scot

An audition is the first part of the application process, before completing paperwork.

Engage in friendly small talk with patients
Provide brief summary of performance to the Tonic Arts Team
Looking for excellent interpersonal skills, and great time keeping and music ability to enhance the patients stay in hospital.
Training is given in compliance with NHS Lothian Volunteering Service.


Experience required

Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and music ability with confidence to perform and a commitment to the role. Comfortable in a hospital setting. Adhere to all NHS Lothian relevant policies and values.

Local buses available to Midlothian hospitals

Travel expenses

We pay public transport (receipts required) and mileage. Claim monthly

Support
Training details

A comprehensive induction programme will be provided for all volunteers eg. Expectations, adult and child protection, scenarios and health and safety. Ongoing training and support offered too.
