Facilities Management Mentor

Creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment is essential for any organisation, but for charities, it’s often a challenge that requires both vision and expertise. That’s where you come in.

We are inviting individuals to step forward and support our mission by volunteering as a Facilities Management Mentor. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact.

Whether you’re based in Tweedbank, Galashiels or willing to travel your insights could help shape the future of our workspaces and improve the experience for both employees and volunteers.

What the Role Involves:
You will work closely with our Charity Development Manager to:

  • Assess current facilities and identify areas for improvement

  • Develop awareness of the charity’s responsibilities in workspace management

  • Advise on budgeting and maintenance planning

  • Share your expertise in facilities or property management

  • Time expectation is around 2 hours per month

This is a flexible role, with morning or afternoon sessions available to suit your schedule, and while formal training isn’t necessary, you’ll receive support throughout your time with us.

Who we are looking for:
We are seeking someone with a background in facilities or property management, who can offer practical advice and strategic guidance. There’s no minimum age requirement just a willingness to share your knowledge and help us grow.

If you’ve ever wanted to use your professional experience to give back, this is your chance to do so in a way that truly matters.

Volunteers (aged 11-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
