Van Driver

Help us drive change — literally!

We’re looking for a reliable and friendly volunteer driver to assist with collecting surplus food from FareShare and transporting it back to FARE. This vital role helps us provide ingredients for our weekly Community Lunch, reduce food waste, and support those in need.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Driving to FareShare to collect food donations
Safely loading and transporting food back to FARE
Assisting with unloading and storing food items
Supporting staff with delivery logistics
Being a positive and dependable presence throughout the process

Commitment:

We’re looking for volunteers who can support us weekly on Thursdays from 8:30am–10am, starting in September. Even if you can only help occasionally, we’d still love to hear from you!

What's in it for you:

•    Be a key part of feeding the community
•    Learn about food distribution and sustainability
•    Gain valuable experience and boost your CV
•    Join a welcoming, supportive team making a real impact

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. You don’t need professional driving experience — just:
•    A full, valid UK driving licence
•    A helpful and dependable attitude
•    Willingness to work as part of a team
•    Respect for food safety and confidentiality
•    Reliability and punctuality
Please note: All volunteers will be required to undergo a DVLA licence check. FARE Scotland will cover the cost of this.

Support and Training:

Full induction and role briefing
On-the-day support from staff
Ongoing guidance and skill-building opportunities
