Opportunity Summary

The final big running event of the year is here! We have an amazing group of runners taking on the 10K and half marathon for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and to help keep them going and get them over the line, we’re hosting……..a cheer BUS!!! That’s right, this year we have a stationary open top bus for our Cheer Squad based at the Clyde Place/Carlton Place/Glasgow Bridge (A77) junction.


So come join us in making as much noise as possible to show our appreciation. We’ll bring the cow bells and pom poms and let’s create an electrifying atmosphere!


Volunteer Tasks


Cheering on runners as the pass by
Help maintain a positive and fun atmosphere for all runners

Shift Times


8:30am to 12:30pm or 12:30pm to 4pm

Volunteer Support Information


Induction & Training


All volunteers will receive a full brief & training on arrival at the event
Training includes:
Health & safety procedures
Guidance for cheering on runners

Supervision & Onsite Support


Volunteers are always supported while on duty by GCHC staff
Help is on hand to deal with any unexpected issues or questions from the public

Wellbeing & Inclusion


GCHC is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming space for all volunteers.
Volunteers can share any access or support needs during onboarding.

Recognition


Volunteers are warmly recognised and thanked throughout their journey with us.
Volunteer hours are recognised with a small gift with each hours milestone reached

Travel details

Road closures will be in place so please take public transport where possible. The location is a 10-minute walk from Bridge Street Subway Station.

Travel expenses

Volunteers can claim travel expenses for attending their shift.
