Rutherglen in South Lanarkshire is one of Scotland's oldest communities and it will, in 2026 celebrate the 900th Anniversary of the founding of the Royal Burgh. The anniversary is a significant moment in Rutherglen’s history. Working with local communities, partners, stakeholders and volunteers, Rutherglen 900 will aim to celebrate its people and place, in a series of events focusing on wellbeing, the arts, heritage, sports and the environment.

Role
To assist in the running of Rutherglen 900 Making Futures 2026 programme of events across all themes - wellbeing, arts, heritage, sports and environment.

Tasks

• signposting the public to event spaces and seating


• engage with the public at events


• Inform the public about event details in line with the briefing


• Carry out audience evaluation and feedback to the organisers


• Assist with the programme set up and clean up tasks


• take documentation photographs and send to project lead
