Retail Van Driver

🚚 Volunteer Retail Van Driver – Connecting the Hospice to the Highlands

Join our team and help Highland Hospice generate vital income by transporting donated goods between our shops across the Highlands. As a Retail Van Driver, you’ll play a key role in supporting our fundraising efforts and occasionally assist at events.

What you’ll do:


Drive our van from Inverness to locations including Alness, Aviemore, Dornoch, Forres, Fort William, Grantown, Nairn, Portree, Tain, Thurso, and Wick.
Transport donated items to and from shops for resale.
Optionally support fundraising events.
Follow all health and safety guidelines for driving and manual handling.

Support
Training details

We’ll make sure you feel confident and supported in your role as a Retail Van Driver. Training includes:

Warehouse Induction – Introduction to the team, procedures, and safety at our Inverness base.
Loading Training – A 2-hour session covering safe and efficient handling of goods.
Fire Safety – A short 30-minute online course to ensure awareness of emergency procedures.
Shadow Shifts – Three accompanied shifts with an experienced volunteer driver to learn the routes and routines.
Driving Assessment – A refresher assessment every four years to maintain safe driving standards.
