Are you friendly and outgoing? Do you enjoy driving? Would you like the opportunity to work
alongside the Community Services and Inpatient Unit staff to transport patients (and relatives/ carers on occasion)? Then this could be the role for you.
Main responsibilities:
• Driver will collect patient at pre-arrange time from their homes
• Driver will ensure safe transfer into car/Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) following Moving and Handling procedures
• On arrival at hospice ensure safe transfer from vehicle using appropriate aids if necessary (e.g. wheelchair)
• Meet the requirements of a PVG Disclosure check

- Driving assessment (if driving Hospice vehicle) 1 hour
- Moving and Handling (Patient Transfer) 2 yearly 2 hour
Restrictions
Minimum age: 18
Availability
Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
