Leader/unit helper

Volunteering with Girlguiding in the Coastal South area — from Catterline to St Cyrus and all the small villages in between — is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference in local girls’ lives. As a volunteer you’ll help girls build confidence, learn new skills and take part in adventures, while getting to know and serve your own community. You can choose from a wide range of roles — working directly with girls, or supporting guiding behind the the scenes — and the time commitment is flexible, so it works around your lifestyle.

Volunteers also get access to training and development — from first-aid to outdoor activity instructor training — so you can grow personally, build your CV, and even become a leader.

This is your chance to join a friendly, supportive team, be part of something meaningful locally, and help young people flourish right here on our coast.

Frequency & commitment
Time commitment: This opportunity takes place once a week on a weekday evening, and we ask volunteers to spare around 1–2 hours each week. It’s a flexible and manageable commitment that fits around work or family life, but it has a lasting impact on the girls and the local guiding community.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
