Social Media Content Creator

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Content Creator to support the Volunteer Coordinators’ Network, facilitated by Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action (DVVA). This network promotes good practice in volunteer management and is part of a wider initiative to address the decline in volunteer numbers across Dundee.

As part of a small team of staff, students, and volunteers, you’ll help capture and share the inspiring stories of local organisations and volunteers. Your content will contribute to building an online community that celebrates volunteering and encourages more people to get involved.

What You’ll Do

· Take photos and create short videos of organisations and groups in action.
· Develop engaging content for social media (Facebook and Instagram) to boost visibility and participation.
· Support monthly campaign themes by capturing and editing content into a variety of different formats (e.g. A Day in the Life of a Volunteer, Behind the Scenes, Spotlight on Opportunities).
· Help organisations new to social media by creating content to directly support their success in the channel, such as videos, posters, and flyers.
· Collaborate with volunteer coordinators across the city to highlight their work and opportunities.

What Can We Offer You?

This role is ideal for a young person or student looking to develop their social media marketing skills and build a proven track record of supporting organisations through content creation.

This role offers the opportunity to;

· Gain practical experience in managing, supporting and facilitating the success of social media campaigns from start to finish.
· Build a portfolio of photos, videos, and digital content that can be used to enhance your future job or academic applications.
· Develop confidence in working with a variety of community groups and organisations.
· Learn about volunteer management and the vital role it plays in strengthening communities.
· Expand your network by connecting with professionals, volunteer coordinators, and other young creatives in Dundee.

Although DVVA primarily works with third sector organisations, success in this role offers the opportunity for the volunteer to develop key transferable skills and gain a competitive edge across all sectors.

The DVVA contact person for this role has working days of Tuesday to Thursday and will respond during these days to Expressions of Interest from volunteers.
