Trustee

We provide free transport to hospital for people living with cancer who are registered with a GP in Bonnybridge, Denny or Banknock. We also provide hairdressing and podiatry for people having cancer treatments and complementary therapies for anyone living with cancer and their family members. We have been operating since 2005.

Trustees are responsible for making sure that we operate according to the terms of our constitution. They are involved in making decisions about the running of the organisation. They play an active role in making improvements and changes in the way we operate. They come to all our meetings which happen 2-3 monthly and are face to face.

We are constantly trying to improve the way the charity is run and the service is delivered and are looking for someone who can helps us do this in collaboration with the existing committee. Depending on their expertise and needs of the charity they may be involved in working with other committee members on projects.

Experience required

We are looking for someone with experience of being involved in organisations and working in a team. Ideally, we would like someone with experience in fundraising, but this is not essential.
We would like someone who lives in the local area who really wants to help local people.

Travel details

Board meetings are held in the Bonnybridge area - other tasks can be done from home.

Travel expenses

Support
Training details

Trustees are given a trustee pack explaining the role and responsibilities and speak to our chair about what the role involves and how they feel they can benefit the charity before being put forward as a trustee. This helps to ensure, as far as possible, that the position is right for them and for us before they are accepted as a possible trustee.
If they needed training in a particular area we would try to arrange this. They would have the support of the rest of the committee, especially the chair.
