Volunteer Retail Assistant

Would you like to make a difference in your community while meeting new people and having fun?
Join our welcoming team of volunteers who keep our Hospice shops running — raising vital funds to support people and families across Glasgow and East Renfrewshire living with life-limiting conditions.

What you’ll do:

Greet and help customers, creating a friendly shopping experience

Sort, price, and display donated items

Keep the shop tidy, organised, and inviting

Use the till and card machine (full training provided)

Be part of a supportive, caring team

What you’ll gain:

A real sense of purpose and community connection

New friends and valuable retail skills

Experience for your CV or future job applications

The satisfaction of knowing your time helps others receive free, specialist care

What we’re looking for:

Friendly, reliable people with a positive attitude

Team players who enjoy helping others

No experience needed — just enthusiasm and kindness!

Time commitment:

We’re flexible — most volunteers give 2–3 hours a week, but any time you can spare makes a difference.

How to apply:

You can apply online here: ?? www.princeandprincessofwaleshospice.org.uk/volunteer
Or simply pop into one of our City Centre shops — on Queen Street, Union Street, or Oswald Street — and speak to the Shop Manager for a friendly chat.

?? Your time and smile can brighten someone’s day — join us and be part of something special.

If you are interested, please click the ‘Apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). The coordinator will then contact you by email or phone call.
