Cafe Assistant

The Pyramid At Anderston is looking for volunteers to assist with our Community Cafe.

Our Café provides a warm welcoming space for anyone looking to have a chat over a hot cup of tea or coffee. The Cafe runs every Thursday in parallel with The Pyramid Shop. The Pyramid Shop aims to provides the local community with easily accessible affordable food. The role would be to help to facilitate community cohesion within the café.

Specific Tasks


Creating a welcoming space for everyone that uses the café Setting up the Cafe
Running an all age activity
Serving Tea and Coffee
Clearing used cups, mugs, plates, etc

Skills and Qualities Needed


Friendly, non-judgmental approach
Comfortable interacting with people that may have limited English or communication abilities.
Experience of working in multi-cultural community
Well organised, reliable and good at time keeping
Ability to work as part of a team
Well-presented appearance with good personal hygiene

Commitment


6 month commitment
Every Thursday 3pm – 6pm

Support and Training


All volunteers will receive general orientation and training as part of their Induction
One on One Support meetings are available every 6 months
