Match Day Volunteers supporting children attend football games with The Kano Foundation

Match Day Volunteers are at the heart of what we do. They ensure our visiting groups feel welcomed, safe, and supported throughout their Kano Foundation match day experience.
This role gives volunteers:
The chance to make a difference in young people’s lives.
Experience in event support, hospitality, and safeguarding.
Opportunity to be part of a friendly volunteer team and supporter community.
The joy of helping children experience the magic of a live football match.
This role takes place at a pre-match venue in Glasgow and Celtic Park. We are asking Match Day Volunteers to commit to approximately 5-6 hours per fixture. You will be expected to make your own way to and from games but plentiful public transport is available.
Your role will involve:
• Attending pre-match at the designated hall to welcome visiting groups.
• Helping book groups in on arrival and check attendance.
• Distributing gift bags to children and young people.
• Supporting catering arrangements and ensure groups are fed before the match.
• Speaking with group leaders to explain match day procedures and answering questions.
• Escorting groups safely from the hall to Celtic Park.
• Being a visible and approachable point of contact in the stadium if groups require assistance.
• Representing the Kano Foundation in a positive, friendly, and professional manner.
We are looking for volunteers who are:
• Friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic about helping others.
• Reliable and punctual, with good time management.
• Confident communicator, especially with children and group leaders.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
It would be great (but not essential) if you have:
• Experience volunteering or working with children or community groups.
• Knowledge of Celtic Park and match day routines.
• First aid or safeguarding awareness.
If you're interested, please click the ‘apply’ button below (available when logged in and registered). You will then be contacted by the coordinator by email or phone call. If you have not heard back after 5 working days, the first step is to contact the organisation with the contact details provided. You could also check your junk/spam folder on your emails just in case the response is there. If that doesn’t work out then please feel free to contact Volunteer Glasgow on [email protected].
