Pack Room

“Compassion, dignity, support, help rebuild lives."
Our service provides essential household items to help people settle into their new homes quickly. By relieving the financial burden of purchasing everything at once, we aim to reduce the anxiety often associated with starting over, supporting individuals in sustaining their tenancy with greater ease.
Since 2000, we have been working to alleviate poverty, break the cycle of homelessness, and support vulnerable individuals across Glasgow. This work wouldn't be possible without the support of our community. As demand for our services continues to grow, we need volunteers to assist with one of the most important tasks in our charity: creating the packs.
Volunteer tasks include:
Quality checking donated items
Processing donated items (e.g., loading/unloading washing machines)
Loading and unloading crockery into the dishwasher
Organizing deliveries of pack items and placing them on the correct shelves
Preparing pack sets such as toiletry packs or baby bundles
Creating full starter packs, including kitchen, dining, and bathroom items
Keeping the workspace safe and tidy (collapsing empty boxes, cleaning up, vacuuming, etc.)
We offer flexibility in terms of the number of hours you can offer our office are open Monday to Friday 9.00-5.00pm with flexibility across that week. No amount of time is too small, and we are incredibly grateful to all our volunteers. It’s a great opportunity to make a real difference in Glasgow.
In return for your help, you will be joining a wonderful team who have a lot of laughs alongside the important work they do. Alongside a Starter Packs T-shirt, tea and coffee are always on the boil along with a 25% volunteer shop discount if you see anything you'd like to buy. We get wonderful and varied donations so there's probably bound to be something that catches your eye!
