Join CHAS in their new shop in Dalgety Bay, and help to sell donated stock as well as new goods to raise the vital funds required to care for children and their families. Volunteers are needed to support with welcoming customers, sorting donations or creating beautiful window displays and help raise funds to support children with a life-shortening condition and their families.
This role will involve:
Volunteering within a small team to sort, steam, hang and size clothing
Making sure all stock is in safe and working order
Pricing items under supervision and assisting with stock rotation
Keeping the stock room clean, tidy and well organised
Welcoming and assisting customers and serving at the till point
Accepting donations and registering donors for Gift Aid
Use your existing skills or learn new ones, meet new people and have fun all while making a real difference in your local community.
Experience required
Good communication and attention to detail
An aptitude for team working
Strong organisational skills
A good understanding of what makes great customer service
The ability to represent CHAS enthusiastically and appropriately
Travel details
This opportunity takes place at 8 Bay Centre, Regent’s Way, Dalgety Bay, KY11 9YD, with free car parking and local public transport links close by.
Travel expenses
Yes - CHAS reimburses reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred in the course of volunteering, including public transport on submission of receipts/tickets and car (current mileage rate = 45p), every month.

Training details
It’s important to CHAS that you feel happy, safe and confident in your role. As a CHAS volunteer you will be invited to complete a short core learning package that is tailored to your role. They are always developing new opportunities for volunteers to learn and offer a range of options for volunteers.
They have also partnered with the Skills Network to offer all their volunteers the chance to develop new skills and explore further learning opportunities.
They also offer a full induction where we provide full training. Trial shifts can also be arranged to help you decide if this is the right role for you.

Availability
Volunteers (aged 14-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
