Helping people complete consent/evaluation forms or completing the comments book.
Setting up and clearing away for the class e.g. setting out chairs, tables and washing up.
Offering teas/coffees/biscuits at the beginning of the class.
Chatting to the participants to make sure they feel comfortable and at ease.
Offering an arm for people to link onto for additional support when walking or standing.
Join in the workshop and encourage the participants to engage with the class.

Training details

The volunteer will be asked to complete and return a 'volunteers information form'. An informal chat will be arranged with the Head of Development to get to know the volunteer and what availability they have. Then a date will be arranged (that is mutually convenient) for the volunteer to visit the group, see the set up and meet with the Head of Development and the other volunteers.
Training is available in dementia, Parkinson's and disability awareness.
