Frequency & commitment
How often will I be volunteering? This opportunity is flexible – you could plan to meet a couple of times per month, every week, or every 2 weeks depending on what suits your schedule. In any case, your time spent with the supported person can make a real difference. How long does the volunteering opportunity run for? Usually, befriending matches have a planned duration of around 6 months. This means for example if you started in April, you would likely meet until October, and if you did activities together every fortnight you would have done around 12 activities in total together. Sometimes matches can be extended – we would always check with you first if that was suitable for you.

Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
